Tiffany Graham

Tiffany Graham is a Registered Social Worker and member of the Ontario College of social workers and social service workers and the Ontario Association of social workers. After receiving her undergraduate degree in sociology and social work in 2001 from McMaster University, she spent the next 11 years working to protect, support and strengthen the lives of families and children in her community.

Her experience working with parent/adolescent conflict, custody/access issues, mental health and addictions allowed her to see first hand how with the right support, people are resilient and overcome a number of adversities.

After starting a family of her own and volunteering on the board of directors for her local Montessori school, Tiffany observed how children used art as a way to explore their creativity and communicate their feelings. In 2014 she attended the Toronto Art Therapy Institute to explore her interest in combining process and psychotherapy, facilitating self expression and understanding using creative methods of expression through visual art.

Her practicum experience included CAMH, St. Leonards Brantford and men’s withdrawal management. It is there that she discovered her love of addictions and mental health and began her work on an inpatient unit with men in various states of withdrawal from substances, offered 1:1 support and facilitated residential treatment for patients.

Currently, Tiffany is working at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton in the Community Psychiatry Clinic where she offers assessments, one-to-one counselling, and facilitating groups based primarily in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy. Her counselling approach is based on an eclectic model that incorporates various theories, methods and perspectives based on client’s need and preferences.

Tiffany believes the most caring thing a therapist can do is help people change in ways that brings them closer to their own ultimate goals. Her sense of humour and easy going manner allows her client’s to feel comfortable and relaxed in her presence.
